Our Team

Teaching Staff

Mrs Victoria Walker – Headteacher

I have worked in schools for 31 years, starting my journey in Liverpool over a 4-year Bachelor of Education with Honours Degree. I spent the next 27 years working in 8 different schools across Tameside and Stockport in many different roles. I have been a manager and a head teacher for 23 of those years. I have led most subject areas across school and developed a passion for sport and a creative curriculum. Each experience has enriched my life and I have always enjoyed the variety of challenges each setting and role has brought. I enjoy many interests including travelling, walking, music, reading and sport. Much of these were sparked in school when I was a child and have shaped me into the person I am today. This is why I am so passionate about the depth and breadth of the curriculum experiences we offer our children at Ludworth. We strive to ensure we are developing their skills and talents for generations to come making me feel proud and privileged to be part of their journey.

Mr Jake Senogles – Deputy Headteacher

As Deputy Headteacher at Ludworth Primary School, I am proud to contribute to the thriving and supportive school community we’ve built here. My teaching journey began at Sheffield Hallam University, where I studied Primary Education. After starting my career in a deprived school in Rochdale, I joined Ludworth in 2019.

I have taught many year groups across my career including in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I am passionate about staying active. Whether it’s traveling, playing golf, watching football (particularly Manchester United), or running; I enjoy bringing energy and enthusiasm into everything I do – including my teaching. I believe education should be engaging, dynamic, and above all, enjoyable.

When I’m not teaching or involved in sport, I cherish spending time with my wife and our two young boys, creating memories together as a family.

Mrs Nicola Hankey – SENDCO

I have worked in primary education for many years in a range of roles but have always retained my enthusiasm for working with children and am always keen to continue with my own professional development- the saying ‘Every day’s a school day’ applies to teachers too! I love my role as SENDCo as it means I get to know children and their families from across the whole school.

Ludworth holds a very special place in my heart as my own children were pupils here before embarking on their secondary journey. In my spare time I enjoy reading, jogging and (like most parents) ferrying my children between various clubs and their many social events!

Mrs Becky Towner-Yates – Assistant Headteacher

I am delighted to have joined the team at Ludworth. I’ve been teaching for nine years since graduating from Nottingham University and have taught in a range of different schools through Stockport and Derbyshire. Curriculum development and learning through stories and play are areas of interest for me and I enjoy putting theory into practice within my lessons. I love to teach English and Science and in my spare time I combine the two and write for Primary Science (ASE). I’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to teach children from Year 1 to Year 6 within my role as Assistant Headteacher. When I’m not teaching, I help out at my local arts theatre and enjoy walking in the Derbyshire Dales with my two children.

Mrs Holly Gregg – Assistant Headteacher

This is my eighth year at Ludworth. I am fortunate to be teaching across the school to help children develop a love for learning and become confident, happy and independent people. I love being part of the P.E., PSHE and Outdoor Learning curriculum team and I am passionate in encouraging our children to be as physically active as possible. With the help of our newly appointed Sports Ambassadors, I am ever-keen to ensure our sporting calendar is full of as many sporting competitions and new opportunities. I am one of the Forest School Leaders in school and want to ensure learning is taken outdoors and enjoyed in our beautiful school grounds. We continue to be a Fair Aware school and develop our Fairtrade awareness and this year, led by our School Councillors, we are embarking on our journey to being a Respecting Rights school, as part of the UNCRC.

Outside of school, I enjoy being outdoors going on adventures with my little girl, Georgia, and my Border Collie, Marmite.

Miss Sangeet Sathi – Reception – Donaldson Class

Hello! I joined the Ludworth community four years ago and teaching here has been amazing. I have previously taught in Year 2 and after a wonderful first year in Reception I can’t wait to continue developing my understanding of teaching and learning in the Early Years. This is now my fifth year and I am looking forward to continuing to work with our friendly, enthusiastic children. In my classroom I aim to encourage children’s love of learning and their curiosity about the world around them. I want to help children become confident, happy, resilient learners who aren’t afraid to make mistakes or ask for help when they need it – because this is what helps us learn! My favourite part of teaching is when my lessons lead to children asking more questions or coming to me with research and work they have chosen to do inspired by our topic. Outside of school I enjoy cooking, spending time with my family and reading.

Mrs Chrissie Hopwood – Reception – Jeffers Class

Hello! I am one of the Reception class teachers. This is my sixth year teaching at Ludworth and I am so proud to be a member of this fantastic school! I have been a teacher for 15 years and taught in schools across Derby and Staffordshire. I love teaching and I try to give the children the skills they need to grow in independence and become confident, resilient learners. I use ‘Growth Mindset’ and ‘Mindfulness’ techniques a lot in my classroom. Outside of school I enjoy traveling, shopping and spending time with my friends and family.

Miss Vicky Morten – Year 1 – Packham Class

I am one of the Year 1 Teachers at Ludworth Primary School. I have worked in schools for 20 years since completing a Bachelor of Education with Honours Degree. Although I have taught across all primary years throughout my career my passion is for Early Years and KS1. In my spare time I love playing sport. I’m an avid cricketer and reluctant runner, doing my best to avoid any hills which is tricky living in the Peak District! I am passionate about encouraging our children to be as physically active as possible.

Mrs Natalie Welsh – Year 1 – Attenborough Class

I have been teaching at Ludworth since 2006 in a variety of roles. During my time here, I have taught children from Reception through to Year 4. I have also been actively involved in the PTA as a parent, as both of my children spent their primary years here which they thoroughly enjoyed! I have previously taught in Marple, Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme. I enjoy teaching children at Ludworth and being able to help them grow into confident, caring young people.

Mr Matthew Court –  Year 2 – Burrow Class

I first joined the Ludworth team in 2022 as a Teaching Assistant in Year 2. As I enjoyed my time so much, I then decided to complete my PGCE and I am delighted to be back in Year 2 as a Class Teacher! I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2020 with an undergraduate degree in Sport Coaching. I believe in promoting our Ludworth Values through my teaching as much as possible as they are key skills that the children will take with them through life, with independence being a particularly key skill that I like to promote in Year 2 in preparation for the transition to Key Stage 2.

Mrs Pamela Floyd-  Year 2 – Storey Class

I teach in Year 2 at Ludworth. I am passionate about Early Years and Key Stage 1. The first few years of schooling are critical to their future development and I feel privileged to be part of this journey at Ludworth. I like to teach outdoors as much as possible and make full use of our beautiful school grounds.

Mrs Christina Parker –  Year 3 – Pankhurst Class

I’ve been teaching since 2018 and I am thrilled to be joining the Ludworth team teaching in Year 3. I am passionate about helping students become confident, independent learners and show their full potential in all areas of the curriculum. I love to immerse pupils in reading and develop strategies to confidently express themselves in their writing and during discussions. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family going on country walks with our dog, Fern or playing racquet sports at our local leisure centre.

Mrs Charlotte Baines – Year 3 – Rothman Class

I started teaching at Ludworth Primary School seven years ago and after a few years in Reception, I am excited to be working back in Year 3. As a teacher I am passionate in developing children’s confidence and ensuring they learn that it is okay to make mistakes. My favourite part of the school day is during Discovery lessons, where we use DEAL (dramatic, engagement, active learning) strategies to really engage the children. Whether this involves dressing up, trying to do accents or impersonating a character, we always have lots of fun and the children learn so much. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time at home with my two ragdoll cats (Ashleigh and Storm), who enjoy cuddles and often follow me around the house.

Miss Lisa Quin – Year 4 – Duffy Class

This is my second year at Ludworth and am excited to be working in Year 4 again. I’ve been teaching for many years since graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University and have had the pleasure of teaching in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in a range of different schools across Stockport. I love to develop a curiosity and love for learning both inside and outside of the classroom, and encourage the children believe in themselves. Outside of school, I can normally be found volunteering and performing at my local theatre, or busy making celebration cakes.

Miss Rachel Ashton – Year 4 – Sissay Class

Since completing my PGCE and qualifying as an ECT in June 2022, my journey with Ludworth started in April 2023, working in Reception, and then continued as a Cover Supervisor in September 2023 teaching art to all year groups. From January 2024 I took the role as a Year 5 teacher and am now currently in Year 4. My enthusiasm for children’s learning and my dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom align with the school’s values. Outside of school I enjoy the outdoors, going for walks, and love to travel, visiting new places and embracing different cultures.

Mrs Georgina Sherry – Currently on Maternity leave

I am in my seventh year of teaching and I’ve worked at Ludworth for two years. I’m thrilled to be teaching again in Year 4 this year, especially after getting to know all of the wonderful children across school. I began my teaching career at a school in Salford where I had the pleasure of teaching in KS1 and KS2. I prioritise the building and maintaining of relationships in every aspect of life and aim to inspire a love of learning across the curriculum. I can’t wait to create memorable experiences for my class and support their development both inside and outside the classroom.  Outside of school, I love being outdoors which often involves walking my beagle, Jeremy or horse riding.

Mrs Ffion Donaldson – Year 5 – Lovelace Class

I joined the Ludworth team last year and I am thrilled to be teaching in Year 5. Previously, I taught in Cheshire and was fortunate enough to teach across both KS1 and KS2. I love to be outdoors and look forward to taking Indigo class outside to explore the Ludworth grounds and teach as much as possible in our outdoor classroom. Outside of school, I love to play Netball and explore new places with my two year old cockapoo (Rupert).

Mrs Emma Reid – Year 5 – Turing Class

This is my eighth year teaching at Ludworth and I feel very fortunate to be part of this amazing team!  This year, I have moved to the year 5 team and am looking forward to working in Upper Key Stage Two!  At Ludworth, I have curriculum responsibility for Outdoor Learning and Design and Technology, subjects which I really enjoy and I am Forest School trained too. The benefits of outdoor learning for children’s well-being, self confidence and independence are well documented so I am passionate about our pupils making the most of our extensive grounds, connecting with nature and developing their environmental awareness!  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, on walks with my family or taking part in a range of sports, such as cycling, running and tennis.

Miss Foley – Year 6 – Thunberg Class

I joined the Year 6 team at Ludworth last year and have loved the excitement, enthusiasm and chaos of Year 6! I am enthusiastic and eager to inspire the children to be their best selves through creating innovative lessons which they can become fully immersed in. I love to keep active and am a keen runner and enjoy Pilates, which are both great forms of self care. As a history graduate, I hope to bring my love for reading and history to all the children I teach and promote diverse and inclusive texts across the curriculum. Above all else, I want to nurture children’s positive inner voice within Year 6 and on their journey to secondary school.

Mrs Emma Lord – Year 6 – Yousafzai Class

Football follower, travel lover and probably the biggest Dolly Parton fan in the northern hemisphere! I have worked in a variety of schools across Tameside and Derbyshire within all year groups. I am so excited to be back teaching in Year 6 following  a short sabbatical in Lower Key Stage 2. Each child is special and getting to know them as a person is a real privilege of the profession and Year 6 is a particular favourite of mine as they rise to the challenges and expectations of being the oldest children in school. I am looking forward to discovering each new child in my class this year and as we develop key skills of: adaptability, determination, independence, problem solving, communication and commitment we will be able to put into practice the wise words of Dolly herself that, “Dreams are of no value if they’re not equipped with wings.” This year, we aim to grow our wings!
