Governing Body
Mrs Georgina Breeze
Chair of Governors; Headteacher Performance Management; Pay and AppraisalCommittee; Curriculum Link Governor
My husband and I moved to Marple Bridge four years ago and we love living here. As a family we really value the beautiful countryside and the community spirit of the area. I have a daughter in reception at Ludworth and a 1 year old son and we enjoy exploring the area at weekends.
I am thrilled to be elected as a governor at Ludworth and to have the opportunity to contribute to the school. In the short time my daughter has been attending we have been very impressed with the team ethos and friendly nature of the school.
My background is in finance, business and property. For the last 7 years I have worked for Barclays Wealth managing client’s financial affairs and looking after their investments. I am looking forward to learning more about education and inspiring learning in young children. I will also enjoy getting to know the other governors and working as a team.
In my free time I enjoy walking in the countryside with my family, and good food.
Mrs Pandora Lougheed
Development link governor; SEND Link governor, Pay appeals committee
I have lived in Marple for eight years and have been part of the Ludworth Primary School community since my oldest son started school in September 2018. He is now in Year 5 and I have another son in Year 2.
I was elected as a Parent Governor in May 2023. It has been a pleasure getting to know more about the school and seeing the staff and parents working so hard to create a wonderful learning environment for our children. I have particularly enjoyed taking part in Learning Walks as a Governor; seeing the curriculum come to life in the classroom and having the opportunity to watch our children flourish and grow. I believe the Governing Board has a very important role in supporting the Headteacher and the school to continue to deliver a high quality of education whilst ensuring the health and wellbeing of all the children and staff.
When neither being parent nor a Governor, I work as a solicitor specialising in construction contracts and disputes. I also enjoy making the most of the beautiful countryside around Marple and spending time with my family and friends.
Mrs Claire Mason
SEND Link governor; Music Link governor, Pay appeals committee; Finance working group
I am really excited to have recently joined the Governing Body at Ludworth as a parent governor. I am looking forward to learn more whilst also ensuring the children continue to receive the amazing care and educational support the school are providing. I have been part of the Ludworth community since 2015 when my eldest started Ludworth and currently have a daughter in year 4. I have enjoyed being part of the community at Ludworth, I was PTA Chair for several years which was rewarding working with staff, parents and the children whilst raising funds for the school.
I have been a Compliance Officer in the Financial Services industry for 20 years and am responsible for ensuring firm’s meet their regulatory requirements and have appropriate risk management processes in place. I hope these skills will be useful and transferable to my role as parent governor.
In my free time, I enjoy horse riding and spending time with family and friends.
Mr Ryan Holtby
Pay and Appraisal Committee; PE Link Governor
After moving to Romiley a couple of years ago I wanted to feel part of a community and to expand my knowledge within school education. As a current Head of Education within recruitment for schools, I have 10 years’ experience and really wanted to understand the challenges and successes schools face on the inside and how this is achieved.
I look forward to meeting new people and helping out as much as possible to ensure the best outcomes are achieved. In my spare time I play cricket in the summer and watch my not so much beloved Manchester Unite.
Mr Andy Jackson
Headteacher Performance Management; Writing Link governor; Finance working group
I’m delighted to have been co-opted as a Governor for Ludworth. I have a daughter at Ludworth and know how much every parent has invested in the success of the school. I want to use my co-opted term to ensure that the curriculum in the school remains varied and challenging for all children and that every child leaves the school with a love of learning.
I work for the National Education Union, formerly the NUT, in a role that encompasses the development of strategy that responds to Government education policy. More recently this has involved significant work on school funding and OFSTED. I’m hopeful that this insight will be invaluable for Ludworth.
I’m really looking forward to spending time in school, working with the staff, other Governors and seeing all the great work the children will produce.
Mrs Lynda Johnson
Co-Vice Chair of Governors; Member of Pay & Appraisal Committee; Health and Safety link governor
I was born in Marple, the daughter of the village grocer, and have lived in Marple/Marple Bridge for most of my life. My children both attended Ludworth in the 1980s and I worked there as a teacher for a short time. I also taught at Mellor Primary and All Saints Primary before moving to Tameside where I enjoyed being Headteacher of Hurst Methodist Junior School, Ashton and later Godley Nursery and Primary Community School, Hyde. I became Chairperson of Tameside Primary Heads Consortium and Secretary of the NAHT (National Association of Headteachers) working with officers from the LEA.
Now retired, I still enjoy being in schools, since education and the love of children still runs in my veins and seeing the school move forward and playing my part is still a joy. I am a member of Mellor Parish Centre Management Committee and play badminton at the sports club. My other interests? I love travelling the world with my husband, also a retired headteacher, and we take great pleasure in looking after our two granddaughters who also live in Marple.
I am thrilled to be the Community Governor of Ludworth and happy to be involved in or support all our local activities whether it be Marple Carnival or some local sporting or fun event.
Mrs Holly Gregg
Staff governor
As a dedicated member of the Ludworth teaching team for the past nine years, I am also passionate about contributing to the further success of our wonderful school as a Staff Governor. Since starting my career as an NQT in Reception, I have gained invaluable experience teaching across all three key stages, allowing me to understand our whole school context and appreciate how to best support every stakeholder in striving to be their best selves.
Serving as a Staff Governor is an opportunity to ensure that our children’s and staffs’ perspectives are thoughtfully represented. I believe in ensuring an inclusive environment where every voice is valued, and I am committed to supporting both the professional well-being of staff and the educational outcomes of all our children.
I live locally to our school and I am keen to ensure Ludworth is showcased within our community; recently you may have seen some of the brilliant opportunities we provide our children as their fantastic work has been displayed in our local library, in Memorial Park and in the Train station.
I am excited to continue championing the best interests of our children, staff, families and local community through working collaboratively with the governing body to shape a positive future of our school. Through my years at Ludworth, I have witnessed the school’s growth and success, and I am proud to be a part of this journey.
Mrs Charlotte Proffitt
Safeguarding link governor
I moved to Marple Bridge in 2020 and have loved every minute of it.
I am passionate about education and supporting the attainment of children, so I am excited to be appointed as governor at Ludworth. I have been a secondary school teacher for 10 years in underprivileged areas of Manchester, a job which I absolutely love. Currently, I am an Assistant Headteacher responsible for safeguarding and attendance. I am keen to bring my knowledge to Ludworth to support staff and students here.
In my spare time, you will find me in Brabyns park with my husband and son, walking our two dogs whatever the weather.
Dr Victoria Richardson
Diversity link governor; Wellbeing link governor
I am very excited about my role as a co-opted governor for Ludworth Primary School. I have lived in Marple Bridge for 5 years now and have really come to love the vibrant and friendly local community as well as the stunningly picturesque village. I have a young daughter who is nearly 2 now and keeps me on my toes and as she does so does my interest in education and I am so excited to be able to play a part in ensuring our young people are given the very best start in life at Ludworth.
I am already so impressed with what I have seen at the school, and the dedication of the teaching and support staff and the serving governors is just phenomenal. I’m so looking forward to working with everyone and hopefully continuing to drive things at the school forwards in a positive way. For my day job I work as a part time GP in nearby Hyde and I’m certain this type of challenging yet rewarding work will stand me in good stead as your new governor. When I have any free time (which is rarely!) I love martial arts and have a black belt in karate and I am also partial to relaxing with a good book.
Mrs Eloise Sochanik
Co- Vice Chair of Governors; Development governor, Pay appeals, Diversity link governor, EYFS link governor
I am very pleased to have been co-opted as Development Governor for Ludworth Primary School. With 3 children at the school (in year 5 and twins in year 3) we have always been delighted with the ethos, values and the education they receive and the consistency of quality across the school.
We have lived in Marple for 8 years and love the area, especially our daily walk to school over the canal and through beautiful Brabyns park, with amazing views of the countryside.
In my day job I am Sustainability Manager for an Engineering Consultancy and I hope that I can bring those purpose led skills and insights to the board and its development. I love meeting and working with new people and I am looking forward to working with the staff and other governors.
Mrs Victoria Walker

I have worked in schools for 28 years, starting my journey in Liverpool over a 4 year Bachelor of Education with Honours Degree. I have led most subject areas across school and progressed from class teacher to working in management roles. These have included phase leader, deputy head teacher, associate head teacher and head teacher. Each new school and experience has enriched my life and I have always enjoyed the variety of challenges each setting brings.
I took up my second headship at Ludworth in January 2015 and have loved every minute getting to know this lovely community. I have enjoyed the changes and challenges thus far at Ludworth and look forward to many exciting and stimulating years continuing to make Ludworth as successful a school as possible!
